Comfort Meets Elegance – Bellevue

I am so excited to release this pattern that has been on my mind FOREVER!  I was in a bit of a pattern design/sewing funk through most of December and January but this pattern finally brought me out of it.  It turned out exactly how I wanted and ended up being even more comfortable than I imagined.

Introducing Bellevue!

Bellevue has a wide open neckline with two finishing options, either banded or faced, and four sleeve lengths.  I am a sucker for elbow length but the short sleeve is perfect as the weather is warming up.  The pattern is a mix of knit and woven with endless possibilities.

Tester Sneak Peek of Bellevue

My testers knock my socks off this week!  The best part of testing is seeing the pictures start to roll in, even a bathroom selfie gets a huge smile from me.  I am just so excited to see another persons interpretation of my pattern.

My newest pattern, Bellevue, will be releasing next week but I wanted to give you a little taste of the great shirts I have been seeing during testing.  I will have a full tester round up late next week with all the details.  Today it is all about the eye candy 🙂

White T-shirt Love

It’s safe to say I think I have found my newest obsession!  There isn’t much better than a well fitting t-shirt.

The Union St. Tee from Hey June is spot on for fit, so comfortable without being too tight.

I sewed up the XS based on my bust and then graded out to a medium to give me a little more room through the waist and hips.  I also went ahead and added 2 inches to the length to give me an extra long tee.

Don’t Fear the Double Pleat

So excited to finally be showing you the ins and outs of the Capitol Hill pattern I created for the Sew Fab Bundle.  You still have until tomorrow to purchase the whole bundle so make sure to snag your copy before it’s too late.  If you are looking for some of the other patterns from the bundle that I sewed, here is my versions of the Jersey Glam Dress and Palazzo Pants I also sewed up a remix on the Jersey Glam Dress and the Extraordinary Girl Top.  For even more inspiration head over to the Sew Fab Bundle Facebook page to see testers and other bloggers sharing their version.

Can’t Stop Won’t Stop

When I buy a pattern I want to be able to get more than one use out of it, even if the pattern doesn’t give multiple options.  It is all part of the fun to see what you can do with a pattern by changing a few things or even doing something as simple as just shortening it for another look.

Rocking the Sew Fab Bundle

As a designer in the Sew Fab Bundle Sale I got the full bundle about a week before the sale went live.  I had these grand plans to sew up the whole collection and blog about them individually and then I realized my reality was much less ambitious.  I am pretty happy to say that I have sewn up 3 of my fellow designers patterns and hope to get a few more done before the sale is over.

Perfect West Coast Accessory

I am pretty much convinced that there is no better place to live than the West Coast of the US and Canada.  Some may disagree (like my husband) but you really can’t beat the amazing weather we get.  Our Fall is crisp and clean with rain and grey to cuddle up and relax and our winter is cold without the snow but still the occasional beautiful sunny day.  The key for all seasons in this part of the world is layering and a great scarf can be used for at least three of the seasons.

Sew Fab Winter 2014 Pattern Sale at www.thesoutherninstitute.com

I can’t believe it’s time again for another Sew Fab Pattern Sale, can you? It feels like the time in between sales just gets shorter and shorter! I know that many of you have been keeping up with sale updates through the Sew Fab newsletter, and have been eagerly awaiting this bundle… I think you’re going to be really excited!

Comfy, Cozy and Stylish

It’s no secret that I am all about upgrading the mommy wardrobe but still being completely functional.  I do not have time in my life to sew up clothes that I will never wear again, everything I sew has to have a purpose in my wardrobe or it’s not happening.

Kaysie of kzjo’studio has been a tester of mine on a few different occasions and so I was completely disappointed when I couldn’t help her test her newest pattern, the Eleanor Cardigan.  But lucky for me Kaysie asked if I would be interested in sewing one up and telling all you about it, so here we are.

Ballard Blog Tour Day 13

For the last two weeks I have had a great group of bloggers join me to share their versions of the Ballard pattern.  I hope you have had as much fun as me seeing all these great Ballards, not to mention the shirts that Allie of Indiesew made.

Wrapping up our pattern tour is Sara of Made by Sara and this peek of her shirt is so beautiful.
