Fabric shopping with kids is always so much fun. Kids have a vision for fabric that I may never have had, as example Sophie picked out the fabric in this dress and the end result was so great. She still gets compliments from strangers every time she wears it. I can’t take too much credit for it since I only did the sewing.
Recently we went shopping for some swimsuit fabric and Sophie insisted on getting shiny gold fabric to make Ben a swimsuit. So when the test call went out for Peek-a-boo Patterns new pattern Monaco Swim Trunks (affiliate link), I knew Ben would rock that pattern in gold. Now all Benny needs is a gold chain and aviators and his look will be complete.
Ben normally wears an 18 month size, which is what I sewed up for the test, but since they are meant to be a tight fit I probably should have made the 6 month size based on his waist. Sophie has now taken over these shorts because they are a perfect fit for her.
The Monaco Swim Trunk is really great pattern and such a quick sew. The pattern comes in size 3 months up to 12 and instructions to add a contrasting band down the side and an optional drawstring. The trunks are fully lined which leaves you with a really professional result. Amy also did a great job accommodating babies that are still in diapers.
This pattern is so versatile because not only can it be used for a swim trunk but it also makes a great pattern for shorts Sophie can wear under her skirts and dresses. The best patterns are those that have multiple uses and this is no exception.
This pattern is available for 15% off today only so head on over to Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop and grab your copy of this great versatile pattern.
